It is our 12th leaders’ meeting – and the first since CTMI’s International Conference in Mauritius. 45 men and women including the local CTMI team have gathered in the SABC hall in Durban. Neil greets the brothers and sisters, after which Clint leads us in a time of worship. A word from the Lord is given through Neil – declaring how He will never forsake His people.

Neil calls on two brothers to share their testimonies with us; Asanda and Dirk. Both were in Mauritius recently for the the conference.

Asanda shares of his gratitude for the amazing grace of the Lord upon his life. He testifies that, for the first time in his Christian walk, he is being shown the true state of his heart. He describes it as if the Lord has given him a small mirror; one only big enough for him to see himself.

Dirk emphasises that if we want the Lord to move in our dying nation then it is up to us, the Church, its leaders and its people, who need to change. “It’s us who need to be broken and humbled so that the life of Christ may be revealed. We need to, as leaders, realise that like Jesus we are to take the bottom up approach; washing the feet of the people, and not the other way around.

Neil then introduces a clip of Miki’s most recent visit to Bulawayo and the leaders’ conference which took place there. As a team we are in awe of how the Lord is restoring the leaders and building His Church – and we can only imagine the encouragement it must be to those present.

Thereafter Selby shares, declaring that there is only one solution to all our issues and situations; and that is to walk on the road of the cross. He explains that, when a leader takes that road it is not in vain – but this example will cause the people of God to feel secure and become willing to pick up their cross and follow Christ.

Neil encourages everyone to ask the Lord to bring back that desire to pick up our cross. A special time is spent as each individual brings their heart before the Lord.Clint leads us in singing, ‘Bring me back to the place where I love the Cross.
We have a wonderful time over lunch, as the leaders interact with each other and get to know the CTMI team a little better.
